FUNdamentals of Sewing:
Becky developed this sewing skills video in response to numerous requests
over the past few years to teach sewing classes in her home town of
Flagstaff, Arizona. Realizing that so many were wanting to learn how to sew
couldn't fit scheduled classes into their busy routines, the idea of learning at
home at one's own convenience was met with positive enthusiasm.
Her love of sewing began at the age of 11 and except for her years in nurses
training at Massachusetts General Hospital in the 50's has sewn almost
everything in her wardrobe and in her home decorating.
She sewed for her four childern growing up and through the 70's, no longer
able to work in nursing due to caring for her Lou Gehrig's Disease victim late
husband, developed a home sewing/designing business. She taught sewing
to 4-H and was local director for the Make it Yourself with Wool Sewing
Competition. In 1988 she and her current husband George did a Peace Corps
assignment in Lesotho, (South Africa) where she taught a sewing program in
a vocational school there based on the 4-H program developed here.
Now anyone can learn the FUNdamentals of Sewing in their home, at their
convenience and enjoy the fulfillment of creativity, originality and
accomplishment.
